Don’t Rush

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “When one of you copulates with his wife, let him not rush away from her, having attained his own climax, until she is satisfied.” [Abd al-Wahab al-Sharani]

We need to see all relationships in life, all encounters with people, and all circumstances that befall us, as opportunities to earn Allah’s Pleasure, and then behave in ways that are pleasing to Him. We need to care about other people the way that we would like them to care about us.

In another hadith the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) counted three vices in a man, the third of which was: “To assault his unprepared wife, seeking to satisfy his own lust and leaving her before she could achieve her own fulfillment.” [Ihya Ulum Id-Din by Imam Ghazali]
