How Iblees Hunts

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Protect yourselves from the mischief (Fitnah) of women, because Iblees is a very wise hunter; he hunts very successfully through women.” [Firdaus Al-Dailmi, Mirqaat]

Think of advertisements. You’ll be hard pressed to find one that doesn’t exploit the charms of women to sell. One is left wondering what the product is, the woman or something else? I’m told that if I buy the product I’ll get a woman like the one on the screen. I am bombarded with female images till I can no longer discriminate between right and wrong, good and bad. Lusts are stoked till they reach fever pitch and people wonder why the society is going to hell?

Iblees is the greatest devil. The victims of his hunt are human beings. These he desires to take to Hell with him. He challenged none other than Allah Almighty regarding us. But Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) undertook our protection. He (subhana wa ta’ala) told us that nothing would harm us so long as we followed His directions.

The above Hadith is one of my Merciful Lord’s instructions to us; i.e. keep away from non-Mahram women, lower your gaze if you happen to come across them, and don’t talk to them unnecessarily. In other words, seal the routes through which Shaitaan attacks. Shaitaan works to provoke our desires, stoke our lusts and break the lawful family structures Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) has blessed us with.
